Manipur is likely to restore the heritage property to its former glory. It is said that in 1988, the then Manipur chief minister R K Joychandra Singh had offered to buy the property for Rs11 lakhs but the deal fell through due to the sudden fall of the Congress government.
Manipur Merger Agreement to Dominion of India on 21st September 1949. Sadly the plot no longer belonged to the State of Manipur. The State Government has decided to build a Manipur Bhavan on this plot.
