Harshbir Sangha named British Dy High Commissioner for Karnataka

The United Kingdom on Friday confirmed the appointment of Harshbir Sangha as the British Deputy High Commissioner for Karnataka.Sangha will be responsible for all aspects of the UK's engagement with Karnataka, including promoting business and trade ties, strengthening cooperation in science, technology and education, and working with partners to address climate change.
According to an official statement, Sangha will also serve as the UK's Deputy Trade Commissioner for Investment in South Asia. In this role, he will work to further strengthen and promote the UK as a preferred destination for foreign direct investment from India and the wider South Asia region.Before taking up his posting in India, Sangha served as Deputy Director for Satellite Communications and PNT (Positioning, Navigation and Timing) at the UK Space Agency.
Commenting on his appointment, Sangha described Karnataka as one of India's most dynamic states and a vital partner for the UK across trade, investment, technology, education and climate action.
