CM Nitish meets Governor after cabinet nod to dissolve assembly

In Bihar, the state cabinet under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has recommended dissolving the cabinet of the outgoing NDA government on the 19th November. According to official information, after the last cabinet meeting of the present government, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Monday visited Raj Bhavan and handed over a letter to Governor Arif Mohammad Khan conveying the cabinet’s decision to dissolve it.

After this, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar will attend the Janata Dal (United) Legislative Party meeting. Nitish Kumar is also the national president of the party. In the Legislative Party meeting, Mr Kumar is likely to be unanimously elected as the legislative party leader of the JD(U). The swearing-in ceremony of the new government in Bihar will take place on 20th November at the historic Gandhi Maidan in Patna. Preparations for the swearing-in ceremony have begun. Security around Gandhi Maidan has been tightened.

The NDA Legislature Party will meet on Tuesday, in which Chief Minister Nitish Kumar is likely to be chosen as the leader of the legislative party of the NDA. Only after this will the newly elected leader of the NDA Legislature Party stake a claim to form the government and submit the list of supporting MLAs to the Governor.
