In Chhattisgarh, two Jawans of Indo-Tibetan Border Police- ITBP were martyred in a Maoist attack in Narayanpur district of tribal Bastar region on Friday.Bastar Range’s Inspector General of Police Sunder Raj said, the ITBP personnel of the 45th Battalion were on a search operation when the Maoist attacked from a distance of 600 metres from Kademeta Camp of the security forces.After the attack, the Maoists took away an AK-47 assault rifle, two bullet-proof jackets and a walkie-talkie from the Jawans.
The deceased were identified as Assistant Commandant, Sudhakar Shinde and Assistant Sub Inspector (ASI) Gurmukh Singh of ITBP 45th Battalion.The incident took place near ITBP camp at Kademeta when the security personnel were engaged in combing operations. Police have launched a combing operation in the area to flush out the rebels from the area.
