Andhra Pradesh: at least 20 killed as bus catches fire in Kurnool

In Andhra Pradesh, at least 20 people have died after a luxary bus caught fire and turned into ashes after it hit a two-wheeler in Kurnool in the early hours of Friday. Preliminary reports suggest there were around 40 passengers on board. Out of these, 18 passengers have been identified alive, while the estimated death toll stands at over 10. Police said several bodies were completely charred, making identification difficult.According to official sources, the incident occurred around 3:30 am. The bus two-wheeler collision triggered a massive blaze that quickly engulfed the entire vehicle. The bus was completely gutted in the fire. The ill- fated volvo bus of Kaveri travels was going from Hyderabad to Bengaluru.

Former Chief Minister and YSRCP President YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has expressed deep shock and grief over the tragic bus accident in which several passengers were burnt alive. In a statement, Reddy said the incident was extremely distressing and has deeply shaken him. He conveyed his heartfelt condolences to the families of those who lost their lives in the accident.
