1 killed as Tatanagar Ernakulam Express coaches catch fire

A man lost his life after two coaches of the Tatanagar–Ernakulam Express caught fire in Andhra Pradesh’s Yalamanchili, around 66 km from Visakhapatnam, a senior police official said on Monday.According to officials, information about the blaze was received at around 12:45 am. At the time of the incident, one of the affected coaches was carrying 82 passengers, while 76 passengers were travelling in the other coach.
“Sadly, a body was recovered from the B1 coach,” the official stated. The deceased has been identified as Chandrasekhar Sundaram.Following the incident, the two damaged coaches were detached from the train, after which the Tatanagar–Ernakulam Express resumed its journey towards Ernakulam. Arrangements are being made to transport passengers from the affected coaches to their respective destinations.Meanwhile, two forensic teams have been deployed to determine the exact cause of the fire, the police added.
