Pakistan crumbled against India in their T20 World Cup game at the R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo on Sunday, losing by 61 runs. India extended their dominance over arch-rivals Pakistan to 8-1 in T20 World Cups as they bowled out Pakistan for 114 runs in 18 overs. Regular wickets kept Pakistan struggling, who never appeared to be in control of the chase. Having stumbled early in their chase, losing three wickets within the first two overs, it was an impossible task for the Pakistan team. Jasprit Bumrah, Axar Patel, Hardik Pandya and Varun Chakravarthy took two wickets each.
Earlier, India posted 175 for 7 in their allotted 20 overs after being put in to bat. The innings was anchored by a dominant knock from Ishan Kishan, who smashed 77 runs off 40 balls to give India a flying start. Pakistan relied heavily on spin, deploying as many as six spinners, who found assistance from the surface and managed to rein in the scoring during the middle overs. Some late flourish from Shivam Dube and Rinku Singh took India to 175 runs for the loss of 7 wickets.
