India beat England by 66 runs in 1st ODI in Pune

In Cricket, India beat England by 66 runs in the first One-day International at the Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium, Pune on Tuesday. Chasing the victory target of 318 runs, England were bowled out for 251 in 42.1 overs. Earlier, after putting into bat first, Team India scored 317 runs for the loss of 5 wickets in the stipulated 50 overs. Opening batsman, Shikhar Dhawan made 98 while KL Rahul added unbeaten 112 for the sixth wicket with Krunal to get India past 300. Skipper Virat Kohli scored 56 runs. 
For the visitors, Ben Stokes claimed three wickets while Mark Wood bagged two wickets. For the hosts, M. Prasidh Krishna took four wickets for 54 runs,  Shardul Thakur took 3 for 37 while Bhuvaneshwar Kumar took 2 for 30 runs  Brief scores: India: 317/5 wkts in 50 overs (Shikhar Dhawan 98, KL Rahul 62 not out, Krunal Pandya 58 not out; Ben Stokes 3/34) beat England (J. Bairstow 94, J. Roy 46, M. Prasidh Krishna 4/54, S. Thakur 3/37, B. Kumar 2/30) by 66 runs
