CWG2026: India win record 7 boxing Golds

Indian boxers capped off an incredible campaign at the Commonwealth Games 2026 in Glasgow on Saturday by securing a record haul of seven gold medals. No country has won more gold medals in boxing at a single edition of the Commonwealth Games. With seven Boxing golds as they topped the medal table in the sport for the first time. Previously, the most boxing golds won by a nation at a single Games was six. Previously, England had won six golds twice (London 1934 and Gold Coast 2018), while Canada matched the tally at Edinburgh 1986.
The final day of the boxing events saw Sakshi Chaudhary (women's 51kg), Preeti Pawar (women's 54kg), Jaismine Lamboria (women's 57kg), Priya Ghanghas (women's 60kg), Arundhati Choudhary (women's 70kg), Sachin Siwach (men's 60kg) and Ankush Panghal (men's 80kg) stand on the top of the podium. Olympic medallist Lovlina Borgohain (women’s 75kg), Jadumani Singh Mandengbam (men's 55kg) and Narender Berwal (men's +90kg) missed out and settled for silver medals.

Long-distance runner Gulveer Singh clinched his second medal of CWG 2026 in the men's 5000m final, bagging bronze.Gulveer, who had won a silver in the 10,000m on July 28, finished third in the 5000m with a time of 13 minute 24.95 seconds.
