FIFA World Cup 3rd place play-off: England sign off with bronze

England defeated France 6-4 to in a thrilling third-place match to secure bronze medal at FIFA World Cup 2026. England raced to a 4-0 lead at half-time, with two goals from Bukayo Saka, and one each for Declan Rice and Ezri Konsa. France staged a stunning comeback, reducing the gap to 4-3, helped by two goals from Kylian Mbappe and one from Bradley Barcola. However, Bukayo Saka completed his hattrick with a penalty goal. Ousmane Dembele pulled one more back in injury time, but Jude Bellingham wrapped up the win by scoring England's sixth goal. An absolutely thrilling goalfest ends with England winning 6-4 against France in Miami.

Kylian Mbappé's brace and Bradley Barcola's goal sparked an extraordinary comeback that brought them level at 3-4. Saka's penalty appeared to have ended France's hopes at 5-3, but the Bleus refused to surrender.
