There is still uncertainty about the structure of the two main alliances in Bihar and many parties are still looking at the choice of alliance even after the Election Commission has announced the election schedule of Bihar Elections. The polling will be held in three phases in the state and the first phase of elections will be held on October 28. In such a situation, the stand of the Lok Janshakti Party in the ruling National Democratic Alliance is not clear as yet. The party has indicated that it will contest 143 seats, including those from where JDU will contest, and will support BJP candidates.
The situation seems to be quite complicated even in Lalu Prasad's RJD and Congress-led opposition alliance, where two smaller parties appears to be on the verge of abandoning Upendra Kushwaha's Rashtriya Lok Samata Party and Vikas Insan Party. Former Chief Minister Jitan Ram Manjhi has already separated from the opposition alliance and has come with the JDU President and the Chief Minister of Bihar. Upendra Kushwaha is also vocal against the current leadership of the RJD and party sources say that he may leave the opposition camp soon. Madhav Anand, the leader of the Rashtriya Lok Samata Party, had said on Thursday that, "We have made every effort to save the Grand Alliance, but the RJD is adament and quite unwilling to share seats will smaller parties ." The possibility of grand alliance appears bleak as former Chief Minister Jitan Ram Manjhi's Hum Party has also gone to the NDA. ''
Meanwhile Bihar Congress screening committee chairman Avinash Pandey reached the capital Patna on Saturday. He said that the Congress is fully ready to contest all the 243 seats in the Bihar Assembly. Pandey has said that if we have a 'respectable' partnership with the Rashtriya Janata Dal, only then we will contest elections with them. He said that all the opposition parties are with the Congress against the BJP in Bihar.
On the other hand the Union minister and senior BJP leader Ravi Shankar Prasad has claimed that NDA victory is imminent in Bihar assembly elections .Ravi Shankar Prasad said that the people of Bihar have once again made up their mind to vote in favor of NDA in the assembly elections. In such a situation, the victory of the alliance is sure. Union Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad said that along with the development works of the NDA government, the people of the state have seen PM Modi's love for Bihar on the ground.
Earlier on Friday, the RJD chief gave an election slogan on Twitter after the Bihar assembly election date was announced. He called upon the people of Bihar to prepare for the election and said that there will be a change in Bihar. In his tweet, Lalu Prasad wrote, "Get up, Bihari, do preparations, rule of the people this time." There will be a change in Bihar. Officer rule will end. Now the people will rule. Let us know that Lalu Yadav has been active on Twitter for a long time and has been continuously targeting the JDU-BJP government of the state. There is no doubt that ruling NDA led by JDU supremo Nitish Kumar has left no stone unturned to repeat the performance again and give a tough challenge to grand alliance led by RJD.
