Congress leader Navjot Singh Sidhu has hit out at the “system” that does not “give back the power of the people to the people”. In his latest outburst, wrote on Twitter, Sidhu referred to “system” as something that “controlled and manipulated” Punjab and was being run by two powerful families.
17 Years- Lok Sabha, Rajya Sabha, MLA, Minister... Just one Motive, to change the system that runs Punjab & Give back the Power of the People to the People. But when the system said No to every attempt for reform, I rejected the system, though it kept offering me Cabinet Berths ! pic.twitter.com/V2LBAjoAXA

Navjot Sidhu had joined the Congress ahead of 2017 Punjab Assembly election after he developed differences with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), who was back then in alliance with the SAD. Sidhu, however, did not gel well with Amarinder Singh and resigned from the ministry after his portfolio was changed in 2019.
