Nehru left Goa’s freedom fighters to die, delayed liberation, says PM

Senior BJP leader and Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday addressed a political rally in Saharanpur district of Uttar Pradesh where elections will be held in second phase. Addressing the gathering Prime Minister said that Uttar Pradesh needs development and that is why the double engine government is necessary for the state. Attacking on opposition Prime Minister said that earlier governments only worked for the development of their family but Yogi government is working for the benefit of each and every person of the society. Many leaders also campaigned in state. Prime Minister said that some people are jealous with the growing support for BJP among Muslim women that is why they are trying to rake up unnecessary issues. Prime Minister said that not only the Yogi government implemented schemes like Pradhanmantri aawas Yojana on large scale but also worked for the local wood work industry of Saharanpur. 

While addressing election rally at Mapusa in North Goa, Modi held the then PM Jawahar Lal Nehru responsible for delayed military action to liberate Goa and said Nehru felt if he launched a military operation to oust Portugese from Goa ,his image as a peaceful global leader would be impacted.  Goa was liberated 15 years after India attained freedom Modi said Goa was left to fend for itself and no help was extended even as satyagrahis were shot by the colonisers. Nehru had refused to help satyagrahis. This is the treatment Congress has meted out to Goans. This led to many Goan bravehearts sacrificing their lives for nearly 15 more years after India's Independence. They were forced to spend their lives in shame, these were the conditions created.

BJP leader and Prime Minister Narendra Modi held an election rally at Srinagar in Garhwal on Thursday. This was the first time the Prime Minister held a physical rally after the announcement of elections in Uttarakhand. Addressing the voters, Modi said that BJP's Sankalp Patra will play a big role in making this decade the decade of Uttarakhand. Modi said that new resolutions for the welfare of the youth, women, farmers of the state have been taken in the Sankalp Patra of the party. Modi said that in the last five years, the double-engine government of BJP has made all-round development of the state through projects like the all-weather road, Rishikesh-Karnprayag rail project, the Char Dham development project, Parvatmala project among others.
