Karnataka chief minister BS Yediyurappa is seems to be more stronger but one can not rule out the change of leadership. If he resign then who could be the new CM of the state?. Though many BJP leaders are in the que but..... BSY is a seasoned politician which no other leader can fill his place. But if he is destined to go means there are few leaders emerge out to occupy his left out rein. Among first in the list would be former union minister Basanagowda Patil Yathnal from Vijayapura. He is a bitter critique of BSY and his family. He belongs to north Karnataka and also of the same caste of lingayaths which BSY also belongs. If high command is looking for a youngster, Aravind Bellad of Dharawad is also a best choice. He is a 2 time MLA and has got leadership qualities. He is also from the same community. In all likely hood a lingayath leader may replace BSY for political reasons. It is the dominant community which stood behind BSY all through his political career. BJP may not likely to loose this mass support by bringing a non lingayath.
If a non lingayath is selected to replace BSY, it may be Union Minister Prahallad Joshi or BJP general secretary BL Santosh. Both are brahmins and from RSS rank. Sadananda Gowda, dropped out union minister, a vokkaliga by caste may also throw his weight to once again become CM. Apart from this there are few others eyeing the post are deputy cm Govinda Karjol(sc), minister Eshwarappa(kuruba) by virtue of by seniority in the party. Apart from these choices, party may bring in surprise leader from parliament. Amid alleged political tension BSY has called BJP legislature party meeting on July 26. He is completing 2 years tenure on that day. Experts have close eyes on that day and waiting for his next steps. Will he announe his successor or opt to step down. The suspense drama will be over on July 26.
