Every actor has their own inspirations and idols - Yashashri Masurkar is no exception. If we explore her social media handles, we can see her engaging with fans every day through her meaningful posts. And a common thread amongst most of her posts is her liking for versatile Hollywood actress Meryl Streep. Speaking more about her inspiration, the Dabangii – Mulgii Aayi Re Aayi actress says, "Interestingly enough I was introduced to Meryl accidentally,
I was a very shy person during my debut show Rang Badalti Odhani. I remember I used to rent films from bigflix and watch on set so that I don’t interact with many people. I had rented Julie and Julia and was enthralled by the experience of the whole film, especially the actor playing Julia Childs. I searched for the real Julia Childs and was shocked to see how Meryl had portrayed her perfectly. I instantly started searching for her films and from that day onwards she became my Idol.”
Talking about her favourite films of Meryl Streep, Yashashri says, "There are so many - Bridges Of Madison County, Mamma Mia, Kramer Vs Kramer, Julie and Julia, August Osage County. I can go on and on and maybe end up naming all her films (smiles). There are days when I feel happy, sad, mixed emotions, I watch her films and get motivated. One can learn so many aspects of acting just by watching her films very closely. I wish I could meet her one day and tell her how much she means to me and my craft.”
Yashashri also discusses why she is jealous of actor Aadarsh Gaurav, whom we have seen in films like The White Tiger, Kho Gaye Hum Kahan. She says,”I am so jealous of Aadarsh Gaurav because he got to work with Meryl Streep in Extrapolations. He is a great actor and has been doing some great work on screen.”

As I delved deeper into my craft, I gradually began to unravel its nuances. The initial steps were daunting, fraught with challenges that led me to stumble and falter, yet through it all, a fierce determination burned within me”.
Deepali Pansare: I have manifested so many things in my life

When it comes to positive thoughts and manifestations, actress Deepali Pansare who is currently seen in the show Jhanak, feels that they always work. She adds that she believes in luck as well.“After Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon, I was offered only shy, introverted, girl-next-door kind of roles. But after my comeback, I was doing Aai Kuthe Kay Karte, where I was playing the role of Sanjana. I was also part of Chikoo Kei Mummy Door Kei, where I played the role of Kamini. So, luck was on my side, and that’s why I got powerful roles,” she says.
She adds, “I have manifested many things in my life. I apply the law of attraction in my day to day life. I have manifested roles of my choice so many times. In fact, once I wanted to go to Goa and so I painted Goa beach on a canvas and, within 4 days, I was in Goa. This January, I was just thinking that I haven’t visited Goa this season due to work, and suddenly I got selected for an ad which was to be shot in Goa for two days. When you are aligned with the universe, even thoughts can manifest things.”
Meanwhile, she says that hard work is all that matters in the industry. “Of course, I feel media is the only place where it doesn’t matter if you are a PHD or a 10th fail, you can be a very good actor, director, DOP or head of any dept if you just master the skill required. But you need to be passionate and hardworking and not give up easily,” she says.
She adds, “Definitely there is a lot of competition and lakhs of people come to industry to try their luck. Casting directors usually get so many profiles on a daily basis, you have to be seen or, at least, if someone mentions your name, people should know that she is fit for this character. This way you can at least get a chance to audition. At the time of Jhanak, I had given auditions for 2-3 roles, but it didn't work out. But, for the role of Arya Piyush Rawat had always kept me in mind. And that's why when casting for Mrinalini was on, he mentioned my name and I auditioned for it and got selected.”

Shubhangi Atre: We barely have time to catch our breath

Actress Shubhangi Atre says that it gets very difficult to take a break nowadays. She says that schedules are often very strict, not allowing any personal time as well.“I feel that we rarely have the time for long summer breaks, or even short breaks, for that matter. Life has become so fast-paced that sometimes it feels like we barely have time to catch our breath. Our schedules are often packed, making it hard to take a break even when we want to. Long summer breaks now seem like something from my childhood. When I was a kid, I used to spend two months of summer vacation at my grandmother's place. We had so much fun, and my grandmother used to cook delicious meals for us. When it was time to leave, I never wanted to go back home. I always looked forward to the next summer vacation, when I could go back to my grandmother's house again,” she says.
She adds, “Many of us are hesitant to take long leaves, whether it's for weddings, pregnancies, or illnesses. It's not just actors; people in all professions feel this pressure. I've noticed that even pregnant women often work until their eighth month. Personally, I believe it's important for people to slow down a bit and carve out time for themselves, especially during challenging times. Even though life keeps moving forward at its pace, taking some time for yourself is important for staying stress-free in this fast-paced world.”
She says that a break is compulsory to rejuvenate yourself. “I believe it's really necessary to take a break for at least 2-3 days to rejuvenate and detoxify myself from the daily stress and problems. While a break won't magically make me stress-free, it does offer some peace of mind during those few days. In my line of work, where I often put in 10-15 hour days and sometimes work non-stop, taking breaks becomes even more important. So, regardless of profession, I see the importance of taking time off,” she says.
And, on these breaks, be away from technology, she says, adding, “In our profession, we need to be available on our phones, even during breaks, since anything can come up at any time. However, I agree that breaks should also include a break from the cellphone. In fact, I'm trying to reduce my cell phone usage in my daily life too because I feel like we're always glued to our phones. Just like everything else, cell phones have both positive and negative impacts. While we come across positive content, we also encounter negativity, so it's important to reduce phone usage a bit for peace of mind and to maintain a positive state of mind.”
