Union Home Minister Amit Shah has said that while democracy has consolidated in the entire country, Mamata Banerjee-ruled West Bengal remains the only state where political violence is propagated. He accused the chief minister of creating roadblocks to stop the benefits of the central schemes from reaching the poor. Addressing an event in Bankura on Thursday, Amit Shah said people in Bengal are angry with the Mamata Banerjee government because it is not letting the benefits of over 80 schemes of the central government reach the poor in Bengal,”
“In the tribal-dominated areas, money for their housing does not reach them, farmers are being denied Rs 6,000 annual central assistance,” said Amit Shah and further said, “The way attacks are being orchestrated against BJP workers, we are certain BJP will form the next government in Bengal with a two-thirds majority. The country's security is intrinsically connected with Bengal's security being a border state.” Amit Shah garlanded the statue of tribal icon Birsa Munda in Bankura upon reaching the tribal-dominated region.
