The sudden coronavirus spike has forced the state governments take tuff measures to check the spread of the virus. In Madhya Pradesh, lockdown is not returning despite unabaited rise in the number of coronavirus cases in the state. The schools and colleges, however, will remain closed until Covid situation improves. CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan had called a high-level meeting in Bhopalto take stock of the Covid-situation in Madhya Pradesh. He directed all district administrations to hold meeting of the crisis management groups for deliberations to formulate strategy to contain the spread of Covid-19 pandemic. The crisis management group will decide the timings for opening shops in the markets, imposition of night curfew and similar issues in respective districts.It was also decided in the meeting that the transport would not be stopped. The transportation of essential goods will continue as usual. Events such wedding receptions should have restricted number of attendees and Covid safety protocol should be properly followed. The cinema halls will continue to operate with 50 per cent of maximum occupancy and adhering to Covid protocol.
Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Friday met with the representatives of the market associations and assured them that the government was not in favour of another lockdown to counter the latest spike in Covid-19 cases in the capital. The chief minister, however, sought their cooperation and said that the association can play a vital role in promoting Covid-appropriate behavior.
The Rajasthan government will be reimposing restrictions under Section 144 starting Saturday (November 21) over the rising number of coronavirus cases in the state.The Gehlot government has given the powers to all district magistrates to bring back the prohibitions under Section 144 across all districts of Rajasthan. The District Magistrate can impose Section 144 for a longer period only after consulting with the state government.
Haryana schools will remain shit till November 30 as more than 180 government schools students have been tested Covid-19 positive. The government authorities will take care that the schools are properly sanitised. The government has collected the samples from the students from Sonepat, Fatehabad and Bhiwani, Jind, Jhajjar and several other districts.
Centre had rushed high-level teams to districts of Haryana, Rajasthan, Gujarat and Manipur to support these states’ efforts towards strengthening containment, surveillance, testing and efficient clinical management of coronavirus positive cases. On Friday, the total number of coronavirus cases in India mounted to 90,04,365 and the death toll to 1,32,162, with the infection claiming 584 lives in a span of 24 hours.
