TV actors tackle winters in style with these fashionable tricks
As the winter's cold weather arrives, fashion transforms and merges warmth with style. Artists from &TV, known for their on-screen charm, embark on a fashion journey to revamp their wardrobes without sacrificing on style. Embracing the change in weather, actors share their best-kept secrets and unique winter fashion styles to inspire and guide fashion enthusiasts seeking trendy yet cosy outfits for the winters. These include Rahul Jethwa (Avadh Bihari Vajpayee, Atal), Geetanjali Mishra (Rajesh, Happu Ki Ultan Paltan), and Vidisha Srivastava (Anita Bhabi, Bhabiji Ghar Par Hai). Rahul Jethwa, essaying Avadh Bihari Vajpayee in &TV’s show Atal, says, “Winter is the season I find most inspiring for experimenting with my style. I opt for a loose-fitting light blue denim jacket, or a grey hood layered over a printed white t-shirt. Pair it with ankle-length light blue jeans and sleek black high-heeled boots. Another favourite winter look of mine involves donning turtleneck t-shirts matched with slim-fit pants and formal shoes, which always make me feel sophisticated. Recently, my mother surprised me with a stylish grey cashmere crewneck sweater. I was amazed that she didn't buy it for me. She had crafted it by hand, especially for me. This cardigan sweater fits perfectly on my shoulders and is incredibly versatile. It effortlessly complements any plain t-shirt, button-down shirt, blazer, or jeans. I often accessorize it with a checkered print scarf to add a touch of flair to my outfit.”
Geetanjali Mishra, aka Rajesh from Happu Ki Ultan Paltan, shares, “I have recently observed a significant fall in nighttime temperatures, prompting me to switch my wardrobe for the upcoming months. Throughout the day, I opt for lightweight cotton Kurtis. However, as the sun sets, I embrace my recently purchased woollen jacket from Lucknow's renowned Aminabad market. Additionally, I have begun incorporating thermal wear beneath my usual attire to add warmth. To diversify my look, I include a range of vibrant shawls, each uniquely crafted with affection and attention to detail. These shawls draw inspiration from the diverse colours and cultures across various Indian states. I sometimes use them in my character look, which compliments Rajesh’s outfits perfectly while keeping me warm and stylish. I wish everyone a delightful winter season!” Vidisha Srivastava, aka Anita Bhabi from Bhabhiji Ghar Par Hai, shares, “I hail from Varanasi, where the winters offer a pleasant atmosphere. During this season, the weather fluctuates from comfortably mild to occasionally quite chilly. During winters, my mother used to fill our wardrobes with an assortment of jackets, overcoats, skull caps, mittens, mufflers, scarves, and thermal wear. Over time, she skillfully knitted numerous exquisite mittens, sweaters, and mufflers for us, items we wore with immense joy and pride. Some of these cherished knits still reside in my closet, eagerly waiting for my daughter Aadya to adorn them. Layering clothing becomes essential to stay warm in such conditions. I love Mumbai winters as it offers pleasant weather and not extreme cold. Therefore, I tend to opt for monochromatic ensembles or add a simple scarf to my daily outfits during winters to keep myself warm and look stylish at the same time.”Watch your favourite artists in Atal at 8:00 pm, Happu Ki Ultan Paltan at 10:00 pm, and Bhabiji Ghar Par Hai at 10:30 pm, airing every Monday to Friday only on &TV.
Arushi Nishank on her love for travel: I am already contemplating my next destination
Producer-actress Arushi Nishank who has been part of a couple of music videos and will soon be seen in the film Tarini says that while she was travelling on her birthday, she will be heading out soon again. She says that travelling gives you a new experience each time, and is essential for growth.“Istanbul marked the culmination of my birthday celebration, and now I'm contemplating my next destination. Being enamoured with vintage architecture and infrastructure, I'm considering visiting a place that boasts a rich historical era,” she says.
She adds, “Certainly, the significance of travel extends beyond leisure; it encompasses valuable experiences, cultural exposure, and personal growth. While the pace of professional life can limit travel opportunities for some, finding a balance between work and personal pursuits is essential. Travel not only broadens perspectives but also allows individuals to escape routine, rejuvenate, and gain new insights. Incorporating travel into one's life, even if in smaller doses, can contribute to a more enriched and fulfilling existence.”
Traveling reduces stress and brings joy and happiness, she says, adding, “I wholeheartedly agree that traveling has the potential to significantly reduce stress and contribute to feelings of joy and happiness. Immersing oneself in new environments, cultures, and experiences can be a powerful antidote to the pressures of daily life. The excitement of exploration and the sense of adventure can create positive emotions and lasting memories. Additionally, taking a break from routine and stepping into a different world allows for relaxation and a fresh perspective, promoting overall well-being. Travelling is not just a physical journey; it can also be a transformative and uplifting experience for the mind and soul.”
She says that different people plan their holidays differently. “The diversity in approaches to holiday planning reflects the varied personalities and preferences that exist among individuals. Meticulous planners find satisfaction in detailed itineraries, ensuring that every aspect of their holiday is carefully organised and optimised for enjoyment. This method offers a sense of control and anticipation, allowing them to make the most of their time away.”
She adds, “On the other hand, spontaneous travellers thrive on the thrill of the unexpected. They relish the freedom to make last-minute decisions and embrace the unknown. For them, the spontaneity adds an element of excitement and adventure to the travel experience. The flexibility to go wherever the wind takes them can lead to unique discoveries and memorable experiences that may not be possible with a structured plan.”
She says, “Both approaches have their merits, and the choice often depends on individual preferences, personality traits, and the type of experience one seeks from a holiday. Some may find joy in the anticipation of a well-planned trip, while others cherish the spontaneity of an impromptu adventure. Ultimately, the beauty of travel lies in its ability to cater to a diverse range of tastes and styles, offering something for everyone to enjoy.”
However, travelling solo is not something she enjoys. “I don't consider myself the type of person who enjoys solo travel. I prefer being surrounded by friends and family, especially since my schedule often keeps me busy, and I rarely get time to spend with them. Therefore, whenever I plan a trip, I make sure to invite my loved ones to join me. Solo travel has never been and will never be on my bucket list, as it's something I feel I can't undertake or enjoy.”
Aniruddh Dave shares his bond with Satish Kaushik; says he is a blessing from the other side
Actor Aniruddh Dave, who will be seen in the film Kartik Aaryan starrer Chandu Champion, says that there are many artists in the industry who inspire him. One such person was late actor Satish Kaushik. He says worked with him in the film Kaagaz 2, and says that he learnt a lot from him.“Satish Ji was my mentor. I remember preparing myself for the role of a gentleman cadet was a significant challenge for me. I was told that I should run, jog, and engage in activities like a soldier. This was a challenge for me and he was looking after me,” he says.
He adds, “So, I worked hard on my breathing and health. I decided not to do any television during that time. After that, last year, we shot the film, and it will be released in 2024. So that is also a good thing. I feel blessed, and he is blessing me from the other side, which will always be in my heart and soul because I always loved and respected him so much.”Rest, he leaves it to fate, “The rest of my work, the audience will see, and they will decide how I look and feel in that character,” he says.
Besides being a known face on the small screen, and working in big budget films such as Bellbottom, he is also hosting the show Sikho. “See, for an actor, being on screen, being out there, constantly active, is necessary. Staying active is not only essential to show to the world but also necessary for their practice. So, whether it's the ‘vanvaas' of an artist or a director, there is a lot to learn in that as well. So either you completely focus on your preparation, you sit quietly. Otherwise, if you keep doing something, your own growth will continue,” he says.
He adds, “So, my show, Siikho, is on the prime time slot, which is the biggest television slot. This is the prime time slot from prime minister Narendra Modi’s Mann ki Baat also during that time. I feel blessed that I am hosting a show where, in some way, I am showing an edutainment show for the students of India for a good cause. Here, people can learn and know a lot, so if there is any contribution from me, it feels good, and since it's my own work, I am doing it.”

Bollywood actor Gaurav Sareen is presently all focused and charged up to make the year 2024 his own. To kickstart the year on a high, the actor is currently gearing up for the release of his upcoming movie 'Dashmi' that's all set to hit the cinemas on 12th January, 2024. Prior to the big release, the actor is now taking a bit of a chill pill in New York where he's set to spend his New Year's Eve as well. While we all know that Gaurav truly wishes to dominate the acting space in 2024 in Bollywood, not many are perhaps aware of his passion and love for music, regional Punjabi music in particular. Well, that's exactly why the talented actor now has expressed his wish to explore the music industry with Punjabi singers. Regarding the same, the actor shares and we quote,
"Well, music is an emotion that is quite literally the heart and soul of one and all. It is perhaps one of the very few things in the world which is not language-specific. A person sitting in India grooves to Despacito without understanding a single word and a person sitting in Los Angles enjoys Bhangra music with dhol beats. That's the beauty of music. We have got so many talented and hardworking Punjabi singers in the industry and it's high time they do justice to their potential and talent. That's why, I have certain plans to rock the music space with these talented singers next year. Let's see how things unfold next year. More announcements will be coming your way soon next year."

The only reason I'm taking up Jhalak is that it's going to push me out of my comfort zone : Sagar Parekh
Popular actor Sagar Parekh who became a household name due to his portrayal of Samar in Anupamaa, is all set to debut in the reality tv genre. He will be entering as a wildcard contender in the popular reality show Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa which is currently on air. The show already has some great names like Sreerama Chandra, Shoaib Ibrahim, Shiv Thakare.
Sharing more light about his participation in JDJ, Sagar says, "I think the only reason I'm taking up Jhalak is that it's going to push me out of my comfort zone, like in an extreme way where I'll be pushing my limits. I think it will be fun. I want to experience that and, more importantly, I am taking it as a challenge. Entering as a wildcard contender is definitely not an advantage as I'm not getting any safety weeks and the judgment is going to start immediately. Additionally, there are contestants who are like professional dancers and I am a non-dancer. This is the first time I'm dancing professionally and have never taken one single class in dancing. So it's going to be really tough and challenging for me to match up to those wild card contestants who are professionals as dancers.”
Sagar is very much aware of the other talented contestants in the show but for him competing is not the main factor. He says," I think it's not important that I'm competing with some talented contestants, what's important to me is the journey of getting better. I'm challenging myself and the competition is with me. It's very cliche, I know, but, yeah, this is how it is because the judges are going to judge the same way. They are not expecting anything extra from me, but they want to see how much I'm capable of and how much I can push. So that's the journey I'm going to follow. I believe Jhalak is a big platform for non-dancers as well and at the end, I will learn a new skill out of it.”
Talking more about the technique of dances, Sagar adds, "I have no experience in dancing. Whatever I have done is like ten seconds of dance for reels on social media. That is also very casual dancing compared to competitive TV reality shows. Yes, I have the rhythm, but I have no experience regarding what dancing actually is. And now that I've come in contact with that, I know that it's definitely not an easy job.”
In the show, Sagar’s choreographer will be Shivani Patel. Sagar feels Shivani is one of the best in the industry.
“I think she's one of the best in the industry, she's very sweet and patient. She has this x factor quality that a choreographer needs where she makes every hard step easy for me to understand and makes sure that I push my limits in a very beautiful way so that it doesn't trouble me a lot. I think she's just amazing, I lack words when it comes to her.” Sagar is currently rigorously training himself for the show. He is practicing hard and he has also hurt himself in that process.
He shares, "It’s been four days that I have started practicing . I've got the least amount of time because my casting was done at the last minute. And within those four days, I've been rehearsing for at least 12-13 hours daily which involves nonstop dancing. So I have swollen muscles, joints and every part of my body is paining. My skin has peeled off from my feet. And now I know how the actors experience pain during their dance sequences. I remember reading Deepika Padukone’s pain during Nagada Sang Dhol. So I can really relate to what a real hustle is when it comes to physically testing your body.”
Sagar, who defines himself as a non dancer, danced for the first time as a kid in a new year party. His favourite genre of dance is Bollywood, because he feels he is that typical Bollywood kid who just enjoys the filmy dance without thinking anything; to him, it’s the most stress-free form of dance.Talking about his favourite dance icon, Sagar says, "India has got an immense amount of talent and there's no way I can only mention one name. Whether it is Prabhu Deva Sir or whether it is Bosco Sir, the list is big and each one of them is an institution in dance.”
