Rewa, a sleepy town of Madhya Pradesh has now become a special city. Reason, batchmates are shouldering two important wings on country's defence. it is a moment of double pride for Sainik School, Rewa in particular with two sons of the soil Gen Upendra Dwivedi and Admiral Dinesh Kumar Tripathi has been appointed to the coveted posts-Chief of the Army Staff and Chief of the Naval Staff respectively.While Dwivedi hails from Rewa district, Tripathi is from neighbouring Satna district of Madhya Pradesh. Both have been batchmates at the prestigious Sainik School in Rewa. Another common factor between the two officers is that they both are school-time friends as they have studied together in the Rewa Sainik School. The two studied together in the school for seven years, from 1973 to 1980. For the first time in Indian Military history, Chiefs of Navy and Army hail from the same school. This rare honour of nurturing two prodigious students.

Rewa is situated in the vicinity of Vindhya mountain range . Rewa is also famous for its white tiger. White Tigers are found in the forest of Gonindgarh area. Rewa is situated on the eastern side of the state , which is called Baghelkhand and local dialect is Bagheli.
