PM Modi slams Kejriwal over 'poisoning Yamuna' remark

Prime Minister Narendra Modi lashed out at AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal over his claim that Haryana had "poisoned" Yamuna to disrupt the national capital's water supply, saying such remarks were an insult to the country.Addressing a rally in Delhi's Kartar Nagar, PM Modi on Wednesday renewed his AAP-da charge on Kejriwal and said the party was "rattled" as it feared losing the Assembly polls. He also likened AAP leaders to serial killer Charles Sobhraj, who gained notoriety for duping people.“Such fear of losing that they are saying anything. I am sure Delhi will teach a lesson to people who say such things. in aapda walon ki llutiya Yamuna mein hi doobegi ('AAPda will drown in Yamuna)," he said.

Delhi votes for a new government in a single phase on February 5. Votes will be counted three days later. The AAP has dominated the past two polls, winning 67 of 70 seats in 2015 and 62 in 2020.
