Prime Minister Narendra Modi has said India has the triple strength of diversity, demand and scale in the food sector. Addressing the World Food India 2025 conclave in New Delhi on Thursday, Modi said India is the most attractive investment destination due to diversity, demand and innovation. He said India has continuously been contributing to global food security. The Prime Minister highlighted that foodgrain production in the nation has increased in the last 10 years. Modi underlined that in the last ten years, 25 crore people in India have overcome poverty. He stressed that today, India is the world’s third-largest start-up ecosystem, with many start-ups working in the food and agriculture sectors. He also said that small farmers are becoming a major force in the market and the government has implemented several policies towards helping the small farmers.

The four-day event is showcasing India’s strengths in the food processing sector, food sustainability and the production of nutritious and organic food. The event will showcase India’s transformative journey in food processing, while fostering international collaborations and investment opportunities. The event was attended by Russia’s Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Patrushev, Union Ministers Chirag Paswan, Ravneet Singh, and Prataprao Jadhav, along with senior government officials, industry leaders, and international delegates.
