Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday began a three-nation tour to Jordan, Ethiopia and Oman, countries that share deep civilisational links and strong bilateral ties with India.In his departure statement, Modi said his first stop would be Jordan, undertaken at the invitation of King Abdullah II ibn Al Hussein. “This historic visit will commemorate 75 years of the establishment of diplomatic relations between India and Jordan,” the prime minister said.
According to information,during his stay in Jordan, Modi will hold comprehensive discussions with King Abdullah II ibn Al Hussein and Prime Minister Jafar Hassan. He is also scheduled to meet Crown Prince Al Hussein bin Abdullah. The talks are expected to focus on strengthening cooperation across key areas of mutual interest.The PM will then travel to Ethiopia, marking his first-ever visit to the African nation. In Addis Ababa, Modi will address a joint session of the Ethiopian Parliament, where he will speak about India’s democratic journey and describe the country as the “Mother of Democracy”. He will also highlight the potential of the India–Ethiopia partnership in contributing to the Global South.
PM Modi is scheduled to hold bilateral talks with Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed Ali and interact with members of the Indian diaspora during the visit.On the final leg of the tour, the prime minister will visit the Sultanate of Oman, coinciding with the 70th anniversary of diplomatic relations between India and Oman. “My visit will mark 70 years of the establishment of diplomatic ties between India and Oman,” Modi said.In Muscat, Modi will hold discussions with the Sultan of Oman on further strengthening the strategic partnership, along with enhancing commercial and economic cooperation. He will also address a gathering of the Indian community in Oman, acknowledging their significant contribution to the country’s development and to deepening India–Oman relations.
