An all party-meeting on Jammu and Kashmir has been called on June 24. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will chair the meeting. Many political leadera, including Omar Abdullah and Mehbooba Mufti, have received the invite. National Conference leader Omar Abdullah said they have got a formal invite for an all-party meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday. Ms Mufti also confirmed that she have received a call for the meeting on June 24.
This is PM Modi's first major outreach to end the political impasse over ending Jammu and Kashmir's special status in 2019. It is being seen the most significant step from the centre to end the political impasse in J&K after the abrogation of Article 370 and the bifurcation of the former state to two Union Territories. Though the official agenda for the proposed meeting is yet to be announced but aources said that political process in the state is a likely issue . Delimitaion and redrawing constituencies issues could also be discussed in the meeting.
