The Department of Posts commemorated the Platinum Jubilee of Postal Training Centre (PTC), Saharanpur, marking 75 years of excellence in training and institutional capacity building, with the release of a Commemorative Postage Stamp. The stamp was released by Union Minister of Communications, Jyotiraditya M. Scindia in New Delhi on Thursday, April 2, 2026. Established on 2nd April, 1951, the Postal Training Centre Saharanpur was set up to strengthen the administrative framework of independent India by introducing a structured and professional training system for postal personnel, replacing informal on-the-job training with a systematic institutional framework across its 56.71-acre campus.
Addressing the gathering, Scindia described the occasion as a historic milestone, stating that the Postal Training Centre is not merely an institution but a place where history lives and continues to evolve. He noted that the celebration of 75 years reflects the Postal Training Centre’s enduring contribution to nation-building. Highlighting the future vision, the Minister emphasized that India is steadily progressing towards becoming a logistics powerhouse, not only for the country but for the world by 2030. He underlined the critical role played by the Department of Posts and its workforce in achieving this ambition.
