As Pakistan confirmed that the Taliban have captured the city bordering Afghanistan. Hours after this statement came from Pakistan, a top leader of Afghanistan has said that Pakistan is providing air support to the Taliban. It has also been said that Islamabad has warned the Afghan Army and Air Force not to try to remove the Taliban from the border areas. Afghanistan’s first Vice President Amrullah Saleh said that now the Pakistan Air Force is providing direct assistance to the Taliban in many areas.
The First Vice President wrote on Twitter that ‘Pakistan Air Force has officially warned the Afghan Army and Air Force that any attempt to remove the Taliban from the Spin Boldak area will be responded to by the Pakistan Air Force. Pakistan Air Force is now helping Taliban in many areas. He added that the Pakistan Air Force is now "providing close air support to the Taliban in certain areas". While Amrullah Saleh levelled these serious charges on the Pakistan Air Force, he did not substantiate his allegations with evidence. Earlier in the day, Amrullah Saleh tweeted that the Afghanistan Army brigade defending the encircled Qala Naw, the provincial centre of Badghis province, tuned the town into a kill/trap zone for the invading Taliban. In another tweet, he wrote, "Also, our brave commandoes of 215 Corps re-captured Chakhansour district in Nimroz, killing all Talibs and re-taking 10 APCs that were lost last week. It is a matter of time. Afghanistan is too big for Pakistan to swallow. Too big."
