State Government and BJP cross swords over aid.
At least 10 people died in the Marathwada region of Maharashtra in heavy rains during last few days. The Marathwada region comprising Aurangabad, Latur , Osamanabad, Parbhani, Nanded,Beed, Jalna and Hingoli districts, received heavy showers destroying crops. Gates of various dams had to be opened resulting in floods in the villages on the banks of Manjra river in Beed and Latur districts. Relief and Rehabilitation Minister Vijay Vadettiwar said that a war room had been set up at divisional commissionerate and a nodal officer for each district had been appointed. He said they were keeping a watch on the situation.
The rains and floods again brought out politicking between MVA government and the opposition BJP in Maharashtra. A day after Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar urged the Union Government not to discriminate between states while providing relief packages, former Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis asked on Friday why the State government had not yet announced a relief package of its own.

Sharad Pawar, Nitin Gadkari,BJP and Shiv Sena
Last week a big political incident was, the praise of union minister Nitin Gadkari by a senior leader of an oppostion party. But there was no "hulla-gulla" by any leader of any party-Congress, Shiv Sena and BJP. Some leaders avoided by saying it is a personal matter. NCP chief Sharad Pawar on Saturday lauded union road transport minister Nitin Gadkari for using power effectively to carry out development. Gadkari is a great example of how a people's representative can work for the development of the country. Pawar said and added that he came to the event only because it was Nitin Gadkari's project and Gadkari wanted him to be present. The two leaders from rival parties shared the dais at a function at Ahmednagar in Maharashtra.
Very often nothing happens once the stone-laying ceremony takes place for a project, the NCP leader said, adding, "But when it comes to Gadkari's projects, within a few days of the function one sees the work starting". "I remember that before Gadkari took over this responsibility of the ministry of road transport and highways, about 5,000 km of work had been done. But after he took over, the figure has crossed 12,000 km," the NCP chief said.
