Nitish Kumar elected as JDU Legislature Party Leader in Bihar

Bihar politics entered a decisive phase on Wednesday as Nitish Kumar was unanimously elected the Janata Dal (United) Legislature Party leader, setting the stage for the formation of a new government on November 20. He is expected to take oath as Chief Minister for a record tenth time, marking another milestone in his long political career.
According to information, Nitish Kumar will also be elected as the leader of the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) at a meeting scheduled for 3:30 p.m., after which he will tender his resignation to Governor Arif Mohammad Khan as the head of the outgoing government. Preparations for the oath-taking ceremony were reviewed at his residence, with senior leaders assessing arrangements for the event.
The swearing-in ceremony is expected to witness the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, several Union ministers, and chief ministers of NDA-ruled states, indicating the political significance of the occasion.Intense discussions are underway among NDA partners to finalise cabinet positions and arrive at a consensus on the next Speaker of the Bihar Assembly. Leaders across the alliance described the upcoming ceremony as a historic moment for the state, given the high-profile attendance and the scale of political transition.During a meeting of JD(U) legislators at the Chief Minister's residence, Nitish Kumar was chosen as the party’s legislature leader, reaffirming his central role in the coalition. In a parallel development, Samrat Choudhary was elected the Bharatiya Janata Party Legislature Party leader in Bihar, while Vijay Kumar Sinha was selected as the deputy leader. The announcements were made by Keshav Prasad Maurya, who served as the central observer for the BJP legislature party meeting.
