In Haryana, the new BJP government will be sworn on 17th October 2024 at 10:00 AM at Dussehra Ground, Panchkula. Prime Minister Narendra Modi, along with senior leaders and other state chief ministers, will be present at the event. The BJP is yet to announce their Chief Minister pick, but reports say that the party will continue with Nayab Singh Saini. Saini had replaced Manohar Lal Khattar as Haryana Chief Minister in March, and was instrumental in helping the party win the recent assembly elections. But sources indicate that Nayab Singh Saini is likely to take oath as CM.According to sources, Saini will be formally elected as the leader of the BJP's legislative party at a meeting before the ceremony.Speculation suggests that the new Haryana cabinet may include Anil Vij, Krishan Lal Midha, Shruti Chaudhary, Arvind Kumar Sharma, Vipul Goel, and Nikhil Madan.Shruti Chaudhary is the granddaughter of the late Bansi Lal.
The BJP had indicated during the elections that Nayab Singh Saini, who replaced Manohar Lal Khattar as the Chief Minister in March, will be its choice for the top post if it wins. Nayab Singh Saini is from the Other Backward Classes (OBCs), a major vote bank in the state. The JJP, which allied with the BJP from 2019 till March 2024, was decimated. The AAP failed to open its account and the INLD managed to win just two seats. Three independents, including Savitri Jindal, also won and have decided to support the BJP.
