A new chapter in adventure tourism is set to unfold in Indore with the city hosting its first-ever Tandem Paragliding Festival on January 31 and February 1 at the scenic Korban Hills in the Rau area. The two-day event is being jointly organised by the Madhya Pradesh Flying Club (MPFC) and the Madhya Pradesh Tourism Board, marking a significant step towards positioning the city as an emerging hub for adventure sports.The festival aims to offer thrill-seekers a unique flying experience while showcasing the natural beauty of the region. Officials said the initiative reflects the state government’s broader push to diversify tourism offerings and promote experiential travel. Both beginners and experienced flyers will be able to participate in tandem paragliding sessions conducted under expert supervision.
Details of the event were shared during a press conference at the Indore Press Club, addressed by Neeraj Mujumdar, Director of the Madhya Pradesh Flying Club; Dr. S.K. Shrivastava, Joint Director (Administration and Adventure Tourism), Madhya Pradesh Tourism Department; and Captain Mandar Mahajan, Chief Instructor of MPFC. The organisers underlined that strict safety protocols will be followed, with all flights conducted by certified instructors in line with international safety standards.
Secretary of Tourism and Managing Director of the Madhya Pradesh Tourism Board, Dr. Ilaiyaraja T., said Madhya Pradesh’s rich natural landscapes and geographical diversity offer immense scope for adventure tourism. He noted that events such as the Tandem Paragliding Festival would help firmly place the state on the national and international adventure tourism map, while also attracting a new segment of travellers.Captain Mandar Mahajan said the festival would feature special sessions catering to first-time participants as well as seasoned flyers, ensuring a safe and memorable experience for all. Emphasising limited availability, the organisers advised interested participants to book early, as only a fixed number of slots will be offered during the two-day event.Paragliding charges have been fixed at ₹2,999 per person. Bookings can be made through the official website www.mpfc.inor via the Instagram handle mpflyingclub. Officials said the festival is expected to not only provide an adrenaline-filled experience but also boost local tourism by drawing visitors to Indore and its surrounding natural attractions.

Meanwhile, the Ministry of Tourism organized a Domestic Tourism Roadshow on Tuesday in Indore. Around 35 Tourism Stakeholders from Karnataka comprising of Hotels, Resorts, Travel Agents and Tour Operators etc., were invited as Sellers to promote and sell various Tourism Destinations of Karnataka to the Tourism Stakeholders of Madhya Pradesh in general and Indore in particular. A B2B meeting was organized and around 75 Tourism Stakeholders of Madhya Pradesh had a fruitful interactions with their counterparts of Karnataka to promote/sell the Tourism Destinations of Karnataka for the domestic Travellers of Madhya Pradesh. A Quiz Contest was also organized by the Karnataka Tourism Stakeholders and coupons for free stay at Hotels/Resorts of Karnataka were awarded to the prize winners.
