More loans to fight India, Pakistan begs. Later says account hacked

Pakistan on Friday begged the international community for “more loans", citing “heavy losses inflicted by the enemy". In a post on the X social media platform, the Economic Affairs Division of the Pakistani government said the “government of Pakistan appeals to International Partners for more loans after heavy losses inflected by enemy”. “Amid escalating war and stocks crash, we urge international partners to help de-escalate. Nation urged to remain steadfast," the official Economic Affairs Division X handle posted. The Indian Government’s media arm, PIB, heavily trolled the Pakistan government after Islamabad begged for “more funds" from the international community to fight the war with India. PIB trolled the Pakistani government with a famous meme in the entertainment corridors. The meme showed a dialogue from the movie ‘Golmaal’, “Yeh Koi Tarika Hai Bheek Mangne Ka (is this the manner to beg?)"

Facing embarrassment over the post, Pakistan later claimed that it “did not tweet" and its X handle “has been hacked", Reuters reported. The post came ahead of the crucial meeting of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) in Washington on Friday (US time) to decide on the bailout package for Pakistan. Pakistan’s is the IMF’s fouth largest debtor with an outstanding debt of approximately USD 8.8 billion. On Monday, Moodys’ warned that sustained escalation in tension with India could hurt Pakistan’s growth, impact its fiscal consolidation and macroeconomic stability.
