KCR suspends MLC daughter K Kavitha from BRS

Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) MLC K Kavitha was on Tuesday suspended from the party, a day after she made explosive claims against her cousins, former irrigation minister T Harish Rao and former MP J Santosh Rao, for an investigation against her father K Chandrashekar Rao. BRS general secretary in-charge of disciplinary affairs, Soma Bharat Kumar, and general secretary (organisation) T Ravinder Rao said KCR had decided to sack Kavitha from the party with immediate effect.“The BRS high command has taken a serious view of the behaviour and attitude of MLC Kavitha and her anti-party activities in recent days. The party leadership felt that her activities and statements are causing immediate damage to the party,” the party statement said.

Earlier,Kavitha directly accused Harish Rao and Santosh of being responsible for irregularities, if any, in the construction of Kaleshwaram irrigation project. “It was Harish Rao and Santosh Rao who handled key aspects of the project. They accumulated huge assets blinding KCR. They are the anacondas of corruption,” she alleged. On August 22, Kavitha was abruptly removed as honorary president of the Telangana Boggu Ghani Karmika Sangham (TBGKS) while she was abroad. She accused party insiders of plotting against her and said her ouster was politically motivated.

She alleged that the election was politically motivated, conducted at the party office without her knowledge, and potentially in violation of labour laws. “A grudge was held against me for simply questioning the party’s internal functioning,” she said, directly blaming conspirators within the organisation.
