'Jamaat in one hand, Dimagi Naxal in other': Suvendu targets Mamata

West Bengal Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari on Tuesday launched a sharp attack on Mamata Banerjee over her proposed visit to New Delhi for an INDIA bloc meeting, alleging that she was moving ahead with "Jamaat in one hand and dimagi naxals in the other". Adhikari alleged that the former CM was travelling to Delhi to work out a "new conspiracy" with CPI(M) leaders and urged the Delhi Police and the Intelligence Bureau to keep a close watch on her activities, escalating the BJP's attack on the emerging opposition coordination over the Election Commission. 

Adhikari's remarks came as opposition parties, including the Trinamool Congress and CPI(M), have stepped up coordination over their demand for action against Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar amid the controversy surrounding the functioning of the poll panel and the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls.Meanwhile, former West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Tuesday arrived in Delhi to attend the INDIA alliance meeting scheduled for wedesday.
Suvendu Adhikari said, "Regarding the SIR in Bengal, the rejection of 27 lakh entries due to logical discrepancies was not done by government officials. Mamata Banerjee and her party went to the Supreme Court; the Supreme Court appointed District Judges, and it was the District Judges who deleted the names. So, she is speaking against the Judiciary." The Supreme Court invoked Article 142, took the powers away from the ERO (Electoral Registration Officer), and directly empowered the District Judges to delete those names. Challenging the Judiciary is tantamount to challenging Babasaheb Ambedkar's Constitution, he added.
