In Rajasthan, heavy rains led to a collapse at Amer Fort's wall. A 200-foot stretch of Jaipur's historic Amer Fort wall collapsed on Saturday. Amer Fort, a UNESCO World Heritage site, is among the most popular tourist attractions in Rajasthan, welcoming thousands of visitors every day.

Built in the late 16th century by Raja Man Singh, Amer Fort is known for its blend of Hindu and Mughal architecture, intricate carvings, and expansive courtyards. It draws thousands of tourists daily and is a major part of Jaipur’s cultural identity. The fort has stood the test of time, but repeated monsoon rains and natural wear have been gradually weakening some of its outer walls.
Meanwhile, torrential rains have disrupted normal life in several parts of Rajasthan, with Kota, Bundi, Sawai Madhopur, and Tonk facing a flood-like situation. Low-lying areas have been inundated, disrupting road and rail connectivity in eastern Rajasthan, which has received most rain, and several villages have been cut off due to waterlogging.
Several districts, including Bundi, Kota, Sawai Madhopur, Karauli, and Jaipur, recorded over 10 cm of rainfall till Saturday morning, leading to widespread waterlogging. A red alert has been issued for extremely heavy rainfall in Bhilwara and Chittorgarh, while an orange alert is in place for Bundi, Kota, Pali, Rajsamand, Udaipur, Dungarpur, Banswara, Jalore, and Sirohi. In Tonk district, the SDRF and civil defense teams have successfully rescued over 100 individuals from a village in Niwai’s Banasthali, which was submerged under water.
