Ben Stokes has joined Chennai Super Kings while Sam Curran has re-joined Punjab Kings as the future of some of the biggest names in world cricket is being decided during the mini-auction of the Indian Premier League season 2023 in Kochi. New records have been set at the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 auction with three-most expensive buys ever. England's Sam Curran and Australia's Cameron Green shattered were picked for Rs 18.50 crore and Rs 17.50 crore respectively by Punjab Kings and Mumbai Indians. A total of 991 players signed up for the IPL 2023 auction out of which 405 were shortlisted for the auction. 273 Indian players and 132 overseas stars will go under the hammer with as many as 119 capped players in the fray on Friday. Lucknow Super Giants acquired the services of Nicholas Pooran for Rs16 crore at the mini-auction. The day started with Harry Brook going to Sunrisers Hyderabad for Rs 13.25 crore respectively. SRH also bought Mayank Agarwal For Rs 8.25 crore. Among uncapped players, Shivam Mavi was picked by Gujarat Titans for Rs 6 crore while Mukesh Kumar was picked by Delhi Capitals for Rs 5.50 crore.
