Union Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari said on Friday that India’s road network has surpassed that of the United States. Speaking at the inauguration of two flyovers in Lucknow, Gadkari assured that within two years, Uttar Pradesh’s national highway network would be better than that of the US.Announcing approvals for highway projects worth crores in Uttar Pradesh, he emphasized that while there is no shortage of funds, the country needs leaders with honesty and integrity to drive development. “India and Uttar Pradesh are undergoing significant transformations, with UP emerging as a key driver of national growth. My goal is to execute highway projects worth ₹5 lakh crore by the end of my tenure as minister—so far, I have completed projects worth Rs 3.5 lakh crore,” he said.Gadkari also stressed that PM Modi aims for UP to become a major economic engine, with its exports increasing by 1.5 times.
Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh said, during the last ten years India has seen an Infrastructure revolution. He added that in the urban infrastructure, around INR 1,78,000 crore were spent from 2004 to 2014, which increased to INR 28,52,000 crore during the 2014 to 2024 period.

UP CM Yogi Adityanath spoke about the success of the Mahakumbh 2025. Addressing the event, Yogi stated that the state economy will get a boost of INR 3 lakh crore against a certain expenditure.The economy of UP will get a boost of Rs 3 lakh crore because of Mahakumbh, said Yogi and added that a total of Rs 1500 crore is spent on organising Kumbh, and, in return, our economy gets a benefit of Rs 3 lakh crore."
