Indebtedness does not arise with our help:India at G-77

India said in the annual ministerial meeting of G-77 that with its help, the problem of Indebtedness does not arise for other countries. The Government of India does not do such a thing that one has to take a loan or is forced to take a loan. India’s permanent representative at the United Nations, TS Tirumurthy, said on Thursday at the 44th meeting of the G77 Foreign Ministers, “India’s development assistance is guided by the development priorities of our allies.

Tirumurthy said that the epidemic has put the decades of progress achieved by developing countries at risk and a large number of people have gone into poverty. He added, “As G-77 countries we cannot allow this to happen. We need to raise our collective voice in favor of compensation, flexibility and reform to ensure a return to the path of development.” Tirumurthy insisted that India’s approach would be man-centered in line with the spirit of ‘Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam’. He is committed to the sustainable development of all based on the principles of mutual respect and national ownership.

Giving the statement for External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar, he said India is assisting in urgent health and medical supplies to more than 150 countries. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has pledged that India, as the largest vaccine producing country, will make its production and delivery capacity available to the entire humanity, Tirumurti said. Tirumurti underlined that the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, the Paris Agreement and Financing for Development framework should lay the foundations for global efforts.
