Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini honoured Shafali Verma with a cheque of 1.50 crore rupees and a Grade-A gradation certificate for her outstanding performance, at his residence in Chandigarh on Wednesday, November 12, 2025. Shafali Verma is a member of the 2025 World Cup-winning Indian Women’s Cricket Team. Congratulating Shafali Verma and her family, Saini said that Haryana is a hub of sports, and the daughters of the state have brought glory to the nation at the international level. According to an official statement, the 21-year-old cricketer has also been appointed brand ambassador of the Haryana State Women’s Commission. The Chief Minister praised Shafali’s hard work and commitment, saying she had brought glory not just to Haryana but to the entire nation. Saini also highlighted the state government’s continued efforts to promote sports, noting that nearly 2,000 sports nurseries have been established across Haryana to nurture young talent at the grassroots level.Shafali scored her maiden World Cup 50 as India posted a formidable 298 runs on the board. She scored 87 runs from 78 balls at a strike rate of 111.54 and slammed 7 fours and 2 sixes during her time on the crease. She was also named the Man of the Match for his all-round ability, which propelled the way for India.
