Gujarat DyCM inaugurates Amdavad Experience Centre in Glasgow

Gujarat Deputy Chief Minister Harsh Sanghavi on Thursday inaugurated the Amdavad Experience Centrein Glasgow, showcasing Ahmedabad's world-class sporting infrastructure, rich cultural heritage, and preparations for hosting the 2030 Commonwealth Games.The centre has been established as part of Gujarat's international outreach initiative to present Ahmedabad's sporting ecosystem and readiness to athletes, officials, and global stakeholders attending the ongoing Commonwealth Games in Glasgow.

During the inauguration, Sanghavi joined officials from Scotland and the Commonwealth Games movement in a traditional Garba performance, highlighting Gujarat's vibrant cultural heritage on an international platform.

As part of his visit, Sanghavi also met officials from the British Council to explore collaboration and knowledge exchange in education and culture to support Gujarat's preparations for the centenary edition of the Commonwealth Games in 2030.Sharing details of the meeting on X, Sanghavi said, "An insightful interaction with the British Council focused on knowledge exchange in education and culture; we discussed best practices to support Gujarat's preparations for hosting the 2030 Commonwealth Games. Looking forward to stronger partnerships ahead."

Earlier, Sanghavi had outlined that the Amdavad Experience Centre was created to showcase Ahmedabad's sporting infrastructure, facilities, and overall sports ecosystem to the international sporting community while strengthening global partnerships ahead of the 2030 Games.The visit forms part of Gujarat's broader engagement with international sporting bodies and institutions during the Glasgow Commonwealth Games as Ahmedabad gears up to host the prestigious multi-sport event.
Meanwhile, Indian athletes continued their impressive performance in Glasgow, taking the country's medal tally to 15 by the end of the seventh day.
