The Union government is committed to social justice in the country, President Droupadi Murmu said addressing a joint sitting of Parliament on Wednesday. As the President started her address, there was an uproar from the Opposition benches. Murmu said social security benefits are now available to nearly 95 crore citizens of the country. "With the year 2026, our nation has entered the second stage of this century. For India, the end of the first 25 years of this century has been filled with several successes, proud achievements and extraordinary experiences. In the last 10-11 years, India has strengthened its foundation in every sector. This year is a major base for our journey towards Viksit Bharat," she said.

Preident Murmu Murmu has said that the world has witnessed the valour and prowess of the Indian Defence Forces during Operation Sindoor. She said that, using its own resources, the country destroyed the base camps of terrorists. She said the suspension of the Indus Water Treaty is also a part of India’s fight against terrorism. She said, for employment and development in rural areas, a law named Viksit Bharat G Ram G has been enacted. She said, this new law will ensure 125 days of guaranteed employment in villages. At the same time, it will ensure stopping corruption and leakages for which the government has been making efforts for a long time. President Murmu said, this scheme will provide new momentum to rural development and create new facilities for the farmers, livestock farmers and fishermen.

The President said amid complex global circumstances, India was playing the role of a bridge and even nations engaged in conflict express their trust in it on important issues."Uncertainties arising from ongoing conflicts have also strained global stability and economy. Even amid these challenging circumstances, India continues to move ahead rapidly on the path of development," the President said, crediting the government's balanced foreign policy and far-sighted vision for the success.
