Fresh bomb threat wave targets over 20 Delhi schools

More than 20 schools in Delhi on Friday received bomb threats, triggering panic among the students and their parents. Delhi Police and other quick-response authorities have launched search and evacuation operations, an official said.  This is the fourth such day this week when schools in the capital received bomb threats. As per information, the emails, sent to institutions in areas such as Paschim Vihar, Dwarka, Vasant Kunj and Hauz Khas, warned of explosives hidden in classrooms and included chilling messages expressing suicidal intent and resentment towards society.A number of schools, including Richmond Global School, St. Thomas School, Vasant Valley School, The Mother’s International School and Sardar Patel Vidyalaya, were among those affected.

“Hello. I am writing to let you know that I have placed several explosive devices (trinitrotoluene) within school classrooms. The explosives are skilfully hidden, in black plastic bags. I will erase every last one of you from this world. Not a single soul will survive. I will gladly laugh when I will watch the news, only to see the parents show up at the school and to be greeted by the cold, dismembered bodies of their children,” read the threat email received by multiple schools.
Officials suspect the emails may be the work of a single disturbed individual or a coordinated hoax campaign designed to cause panic and disrupt the school system. Investigators are tracing the IP addresses and digital fingerprints associated with the emails to determine their source.
