Find a new chief, Sonia Gandhi tells aides after letter row

Crucial CWC meeting has been called on Monday.The party has to decide whether Spnoa Gandhi should continue as Congress preesident or leaders choose their new chief . Sources said that the CWC will urge Sonia Gandhi to continue as party presiden, because maximum leaders want status quo.

Congress leaders should sit together and  and find a new chief .Sonia Gandhi, responded to the letter responded to a letter written by a group of party leaders,as she does not want to carry out the responsibilities any further. Congress's interim chief Sonia Gandhi has told her aides that she would step down from the party's top post, At that time too, Sonia Gandhi mentioned in her response that she had insisted that the new president should be someone from outside the Gandhi family, the functionary quoted from the letter.

On the other hand some party sources said Mrs Gandhi can also stay on till the party finds a suitable candidate. A section of top leaders, like Amarinder, Ashok Gehlot  and Bhupesh Baghel, have said she must continue as the party chief. Rahul Gandhi has has al ready announced that he is determined to not return as the Congress president and will continue to work for the party and fight the BJP-led RSS,
