The evaluation of AI-Large Language Model applications is in the final stage, and over the next few weeks, the government will shortlist entities that will receive funding under the India AI Mission, IT Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw said on Monday. Vaishnaw was speaking at an event to inaugurate the Vinod Dham Centre of Excellence for semiconductors and microelectronics at Delhi Technological University (DTU). "The evaluation of the AI LLM (Large Language Model) applications is in its final stage. Within the next few weeks, we should be able to award the first few LLM model teams, who will then start getting the funding under the AI mission," Vaishnaw said.

In another function in Delhi, the secretary of the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, S. Krishnan, announced the signing of the transfer of technology and a memorandum of understanding among industries for the commercialisation of technologies developed under the National Mission on Power Electronics Technology in New Delhi today. The secretary said research must lead to real-world applications with industry collaboration. He stressed indigenisation in power electronics to boost Make in India and Aatmanirbhar Bharat goals. He also said that Indigenous wireless chargers for electric vehicles with the ability to charge 90 percent of the battery in three hours will become a reality soon. CDAC and VNIT Nagpur’s technology has been transferred to an Indian firm to develop commercially.
