According to the revised timeline, the draft electoral roll for Uttar Pradesh will now be published on January 6, 2026. The period for filing claims and objections will remain open from January 6 to February 6, 2026.

The Chief Electoral Officer, Uttar Pradesh said that verification, disposal of claims and objections, and related proceedings will be conducted between January 6 and February 27, 2026. The final electoral roll for the state will be published on March 6, 2026. The SIR exercise is being carried out in two phases across the country. The second phase covers Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Chhattisgarh, Goa, Gujarat, Kerala, Lakshadweep, Madhya Pradesh, Puducherry, Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu, Uttar Pradesh, and West Bengal, following the completion of the first phase in Bihar.
