The Election Commission has published the draft list of three states on Tuesday. The draft electoral roll has been published in all 230 Assembly constituencies of Madhya Pradesh. The draft voter list has been made available at all polling stations, where voters can check their names. Names of deceased voters, shifted voters, and duplicate entries have been removed under the Special Intensive Revision process. Voters whose names are not included in the list can submit claims and objections with the required documents. Claims and objections will be accepted till 22 January 2026, while the final voter list will be published on 21 February 2026.
In Chhattisgarh, 6,42,234 lakh voters were found to be deceased. Nineteen lakh thirteen thousand five hundred and forty voters were found to be shifted or absent, while the names of one lakh seventy-nine thousand forty-three voters were found registered at more than one place. Under the previous electoral roll, Chhattisgarh had a total of two crore twelve lakh thirty thousand seven hundred and thirty-seven voters. According to the State’s Chief Electoral Officer, Yashwant Kumar, said that under the SIR exercise, enumeration forms were received from one crore eighty-four lakh ninety-five thousand nine hundred and twenty voters across the state.He also assured that those whose names are not found in the electoral rolls need not panic, as the process of adding names to the voters’ list will continue in the future as well.
The draft voters’ list for the ongoing SIR in Kerala was published on Tuesday. Chief Electoral Officer Rathan U Khelkar announced that 91.35 per cent of the enumeration forms have been recollected. He further informed that hearings related to objections and claims concerning the draft list will begin immediately and will continue for one month up to 22 January 2026. Khelkar highlighted that the voter registration rate among the 18-30 age group is only around 60 per cent of eligible voters. To address this, special awareness campaigns will be launched targeting school and college students to encourage greater participation.
