Decision would be taken before Parliament begins, Kharge on AAP’s ultimatum

Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge has said that a decision over the Centre's controversial ordinance in Delhi would be taken "before Parliament begins". Reacting to the AAP's ultimatum, Kharge on Frday said in Patana that "Opposing it or proposing it does not happen outside, it happens in Parliament. Before Parliament begins, all parties decide what issues they have to work on together. "They (AAP) know it and even their leaders come to our all-party meetings. I don't know why there is so much publicity about it outside,” Kharge said. Kharge’s remarks came a day after the Arvind Kejriwal-led Aam Aadmi Party said that it would boycott the grand opposition meeting in Patna today if the Congress failed to pledge its support for fighting the ordinance.

Addressing the public meeting earlier in Patna, Kharge said his party could win across India if it came to power in Bihar. He also urged the people to unite and work in favour of the country. Rahul Gandhi said that Congress is getting huge support across the country, asserting that the party will defeat BJP in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections as it defeated in recently-concluded Karnataka polls.

AAP has even alleged that the Congress is not taking a stand because of a deal with the BJP.
