Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel, while addressing the Chamber of Commerce and Industry’s (GCCI) annual Sneh Milan in Ahmedabad, said that Ahmedabad’s selection as host city for the Commonwealth Games 2030 marks a major milestone that will open new avenues of development for both the city and the state. He noted that the achievement, made possible through the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the efforts of Union Home Minister Amit Shah, strengthens Gujarat’s prospects of bidding for the 2036 Olympic Games.
Patel highlighted how Gujarat continues to benefit from the Prime Minister’s administrative vision, recalling that during his tenure as Chief Minister, Modi identified growth opportunities across sectors and established a business-friendly ecosystem supported by modern infrastructure. These efforts, he said, have propelled Gujarat into becoming the country’s growth engine. Looking ahead to Gujarat@75 in 2035, the Chief Minister expressed confidence that the state will set new benchmarks in achieving the national vision of Viksit Bharat@2047.
Emphasising Gujarat’s development trajectory, he said the state now produces everything “from chips to ships,” reflecting its wide industrial base. He noted that initiatives such as the Vibrant Gujarat Regional Summit are vital for strengthening local industries and advancing the principles of “Vocal for Local” and “Local for Global.” Patel urged the trade and industry community, including GCCI, to further contribute to building a self-reliant India by promoting homegrown products and innovation.During the event, the Chief Minister unveiled the logo for GATE-2026, the second edition of GCCI’s Annual Trade Expo, and released a book authored by Pujya Gnanvatsal Swami. Addressing the gathering, Gnanvatsal Swami described the event as a meaningful convergence of industrial progress and spiritual strength. He noted that India’s journey—from hosting the G20 Summit to cultural milestones such as the Ram Mandir flag-hoisting—reflects the twin forces driving the nation towards global leadership. He emphasised that integrating industry with spirituality is essential for nurturing values, ensuring societal stability and building a developed nation.
GCCI President Sandeep Engineer congratulated Gujarat and Ahmedabad for being awarded the 2030 Commonwealth Games and pledged the Chamber’s full support in advancing the vision of Atmanirbhar Bharat. He praised the state government for maintaining a business-friendly environment and for its responsiveness in addressing industry concerns. The event also featured a video presentation detailing GCCI’s upcoming initiatives, including GATE-2026, the Global Recycling Expo – GREENS, the Farm-to-Fashion programme and Grazer Fest.
