The 14th All India Police Archery Championship 2025–26 concluded in Durg with Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai attending as chief guest and reaffirming the state government’s commitment to strengthening sports infrastructure across Chhattisgarh.The championship, organised by the Chhattisgarh Police, brought together players, coaches and officials from various States and Central Armed Police Forces.
Addressing the gathering, the Chief Minister welcomed participants and lauded their performances, stating that police personnel are excelling not only in maintaining law and order but also in the field of sports.Highlighting archery as an integral part of Chhattisgarh’s tribal heritage, Sai said the state government is developing sports infrastructure in mission mode. He noted that new facilities are being established in Jashpur and Nava Raipur to nurture emerging talent. The government is also providing incentives to Olympic medal winners to encourage youth participation and create a strong sporting culture in the state.
School Education Minister Gajendra Yadav underscored the state’s rich tribal traditions and the deep-rooted legacy of archery, describing the sport as a symbol of cultural pride.During the grand closing ceremony, the Chief Minister honoured six top-performing teams — CISF, Rajasthan, CRPF, Uttar Pradesh, BSF and ITBP — with shields and formally declared the championship closed.Ahivara MLA Shri Domanlal Korsewada and Director General of Police Shri Arun Dev Gautam were among the dignitaries present at the event.
