Central Government, Nagaland Government and Eastern Nagaland Peoples’ Organisation (ENPO) signed an agreement for the formation of Frontier Nagaland Territorial Authority (FNTA). The agreement was signed in the presence of Union Home Minister Amit Shah in New Delhi on Thursday. Nagaland Chief Minister Nephiu Rio was also present on the occasion. Speaking at the signing of the agreement, Shah said that it is a momentous day for the people of Nagaland. He said that the government has taken one step forward in line with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of a strife-free, violence-free, and developed Northeast. He lauded the officials of the Ministry of Home Affairs saying that they worked as a bridge between ENPO and the Nagaland Government that led to this resolution. He further assured the people of ENPO that the Government will extend its support for the development of Eastern Nagaland.

Meanwhile, the Nagaland Chief Minister said that this historic agreement reflects the government’s commitment to ensuring equitable and inclusive governance and continuing efforts to reach all regions of the state.
