BL Santosh - a mastermind in BJP

BL Santosh is now Karnataka strong man in BJP after the chief minister BS  Yediyurappa are it may even vice versa. He is a staunch RSS leader who is controlling Karnataka BJP politics. He is known for his organisational capabilities in Karnataka. As well he is a a political strategist for BJP. Nothing moves without Santosh's approval in Karnataka. To expand ministry or to reshuffle it he has to endorse it. It may either be selection of candidates selection for various elections like Vidhana Parishad, Rajyasabha,Loksabha and for assembly. For all practical purposes in BJP Santosh is high command  for Karnataka BJP. Central Home Minister Amit Shah and BJP national president JP Nadda consults him before taking any decisions on Karnataka unit of BJP. He is also seen as a chief ministerial candidate after BS Yediyurappa.

Bommarabettu Lakshmi Janardhana Santosh is fondly nicknamed as Santosh Ji in BJP circle. Santosh born in   Hiriyadka of Udupi  of Udupi district .  Completed his primary education in Udupi and Mangaluru.He hails from Shivamogga district to which Chief Minister BS Yeddyurappa belongs. He is a chemical engineer graduated from Davanagere.  Since last two decades he is a full time activist of RSS. Although he hails from Shivamogga his grassroots are at South Canara. He is proficient in in five languages that is Kannada, Tamil, Hindi and English.

Starting from full time RSS pracharak now he holds the post of national General Secretary responsible for the organisation. In earlier stint for 8 years from 2006 to 2014 he was general secretary of BJP in Karnataka state.  BL Santosh has worked as a design engineer in telecom firms for about two and half years . In 2014 he was elevated to joint secretary of BJP at National level. In 2019 he was promoted as national general secretary of BJP. Now he holds a commendable position to look after the southern India.It is he who is responsible for recognising loyal party workers to take up covoted assignments like Rajya Sabha membership to people like Eranna Kadadi and and Ashok Ghasti in 2020 against the selections made by chief minister BS Yediurappa. Faceless grassroot level workers were given powerful positions which was a new phenomena in Karnataka political scenario. He is a force seen in grooming youth leadership like Pratap Simha and Tejaswi Surya. 

As RSS pracharak his contributions to organisation in Mysore, Shimoga and later in Bangalore districts are woth mentioing.The most high profile General Secretary has now been given the biggest responsibility to conquer Southern States. People say he is like a silent elephant in the BJP's political war room. A bachelor who has dedicated his life to the welfare of the soceity, BL Santosh's responsibility is to bring a change in South India particularly in Tamilnadu and Kerala where elections are being declared. Ofcourse it is a tough job but he can make BJP a strong force in these states although they cannot come to power immediately.
