RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat has asserted that Bharat's diversity is never a problem for unity, as diversity is an expression of unity. Addressing the 'Hindu Vishwa Bandhu - Embrace the World in Friendship' event inCanada's Toronto on Sunday, Bhagwat said, anywhere in the world, if someone was persecuted, he got asylum in Bharat only. Many came to Bharat from outside as aggressors, but they still thrive there, with all their specialties intact. They are now Bharatiya citizens. Muslims, Christians, and Jews are there in small numbers... Many people come to Bharat for asylum.

He also says, "Our ancestors travelled from Mexico to Siberia... They crossed Himalayas on foot, went to Southeast Asia through small boats, but they conquered no country... They gave knowledge, astronomy, ayurveda, imparted civilisational values... Even today when an ordinary Bharatiya goes to any country, the people there offer Namaskara."
